The Green Magazine Scene
Sage Homebuilders and Solar Night Industries are aware that the modern home buyer is now looking for a more ecologically and economically friendly home. In times of growing concern for the environment and fluctuating energy prices others are becoming aware as well. Green trends are quickly becoming mainstream. Don't believe me? Check recent issues of Outside Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Glamour, Town and Country, Country Home, Domino, or Shape. Each of these mainstream publications are taking time to focus on green trends.
Pamela Fiore, Editor of Town and Country Magazine put it best when explaining her reason for her magazine's recent green issue: "We felt we could make a big difference, because a lot of times, it's the people who are upper-income who have the opportunity to vote with their pocketbooks and help make some of these products more generally available. [Our readers] want to do the right thing, but they maybe just don't know the way to go about it."
With the help of the mainstream media, and as word spreads on the benefits of the Sage NZEH home, people are becoming more aware of why, how, and where to 'do the right thing'. But, will there be enough supply to meet this demand? Looks like it--the Residential Green Building SmartMarket Report suggests that "by 2010 the majority of the builders will be building green". The study performed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and McGraw-Hill Construction illustrates that dramatic increases in green building practices in recent years.
Such revelations point to a future where this Sage home, while still special, will not be so unique. I'm sure the folks at Sage and Solar Night will agree that this is a good thing.
...now green up your act!
