Ameren's 1.2 million Missouri customers will finally have a green option for powering their homes and/or businesses. Ameren announced their Pure Power program Monday, which will allow their customers the opportunity to pay an extra 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour to support the development of renewable energy. This step will help reduce our need for fossil-fuel-generated electricity, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
